Duplicating navigation icons + index.html non auto creating

I have a customer whose Actinic v4 does not automatically create index.html and the navigation buttons duplicate themselves.

If you look at www.countrywearuk.com/acatalog and go into a product section then click on sections, you will see the duplications.

    Any ideas?

The template is not getting overwritten when uploading, I will manually edit it and ftp it back up. I shall then reload the software.

Can anyone tell me whether Actinic V4 will just overwrite itself or do you have to remove it first?

Templates, I reckon. Can you get the client to turn off 'HTML compression' (view | business settings I think) and reupload?

It is definitely a template issue - but a very strange one.

HTML compression is set in 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous' - 'Generation Options' area.

Have you done the HTML un-compaction yet? This will allow us to see which templates could be causing the problem.

It seems fine when I view it. Has it been fixed? If it has can we have a "users rule" that the person asking the question places a closed thread message on the board along with any fix they have.

          Thanks

It's still not working properly and I have tried the compaction bit and it made no difference. I have altered the settings so that the "Sections" icon does not appear, the next step is to get the "UP" icon to just go back to ..\acatalog\index.html

The un-compaction was just so we could see what was going on in the page.

I think I have got an answer for you. When you click on the 'Up' icon or click on the 'Countrywear' link in your parent sections links, it wants to go to a page called 'Act_CatalogBody.html' rather than 'index.html'. I think this value would come from your 'Base Page Name' in 'Design | Options | Defaults'. Look at this field and change the value if necessary.
