    flat file import example

    Hi,

I've just started using Actinic and am trying to neter Attributes and Choices using a Flat File import. I cannot find whether this is possible in the documentation so I would be grateful if anyone can clarify this or can send me an example file.

    thanks.

Components and attributes can not be imported in a flat file database, you will need to use hierartical database files ( or however it is spelt lol)...

Examples of this type of file are on the Actinic CD if memory serves correctly within xls files...

'Hierarchical' . Flat files can only be used for Section and Product data. For choices, attributes and components you need a hierarchical import. The easiest way to see an example is to generate your own by going to 'File | Export'.

You will find a couple of examples already within your 'Site1' folder:

      SampleHierarchicalCatalogImportFile.txt
      - with products, attributes and choices

      SampleHierarchicalBusinessImportFile.txt
      - as above, but with brochure pages as well.
