    Adroll conversion tracking

    Hi,
    I am going to trial Adroll remarketing.
    I have the Adroll 'smart pixel' code in my outer layout and I have also added it to the receipt page.

    Adroll need to know my 'conversion' page to track conversions.
    I understand this is;

    http://www.my-shop.co.uk/cgi-bin/os000001.pl

    However that is the URL for 'view cart' and also the shopping cart check out pages.

    How can I give an URL to Adroll for just the receipt page?

    Thanks

    (I also use google analytics and that tracks conversions on 'receipt.html' but I'm a bit confused as when I check out myself to test it, the receipt page is; http://www.my-shop.co.uk/cgi-bin/os000001.pl )

    As I understand it the checkout and receipt pages are all generated by the orderscript perl routine as they all need to display dynamic information relating to each particular order and where the customer is in the checkout process.

    The receipt.html file is where the underlying html for the receipt page comes from that is shown by the orderscript perl at the appropriate time.

    So to make something display on the receipt page, put it in the receipt.html page/file. It will then be displayed to the customer by the orderscript perl after payment is completed.

      Hi Mike,

      Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to make anything display on the receipt page.

      I have put the Adroll 'smartpixel' (tracking code) on all pages including the receipt page.

      Adroll will track who visits what pages on my site. (like google analytics does)

      However I need to distinguish between visits to 'view cart' and the 3 check out pages... from people who actually finish checking out and visit the receipt page..

      ...these pages all have the same URL and the same tracking code... Do you see what I mean?

        Yup. I see what you mean.

        If you tell it to use receipt.html to you see any results? I can't remember if the orderscript does a redirect to this or not. I think it might do.

          I think the google analytics code does some kind of 'receipt.html' tracking trickery...
          As I use 'receipt.html' for my Google Analytics... but it is not working for Adroll.

          When I make a test checkout and go to my receipt page its just;
          http://www.my-shop.co.uk/cgi-bin/os000001.pl

            I did use adroll once but a while ago.
            from memory there are 2 tracking pixels - one that tracks every page and a different one that you add to the receipt page layout.

              Thanks Chickenman, I'll get onto them about that then.

                For anyone interested, it seems that you can use the following as a 'conversion' to track actual sales, as it registers visits to the receipt page;

                Code:
                http://www.shopname.co.uk/cgi-bin/*?SEQUENCE=*=Finish&ORDERNUMBER=*

                  that last url didn't work for me but what has worked is this:

                  https://help.adroll.com/hc/en-us/art...Fixed-Segments

                  Having spent best part of an hour on the online chat with them which produced no suggestions I went and read through the help docs again.

                    weird it didnt work for you.

                    You did change 'shopname' to your store name though eh? (sorry had to check!)

                    Adroll isnt really doing that well for me.
                    The support guys set you up to pay for as many ads as they can, and evertime I complain they werent performing, they change it again and say 'give this a week.. this'll be better'. It never was.

                    I'm also a bit worried that they count 'view through conversions' as full conversions. (Not just 'click through') Seems like a stretch to me... Some visits a page that had your ad on it, and then makes a purchase days or even weeks later and thats a conversion? Not totally inpressed.

                      yes, changed the address are you using sellerdeck payments?

                      That extra code makes it easy to apply to sections of the website if you put it into a custom variable.
