    "not responding"

Today I can load Sellerdeck in the normal way - but since downloading a couple of orders this morning, as soon as I click "anything" it instantly shows as "not responding" - eventually times out, and closes ... i have closed and restarted my laptop many times but still stuck.

What else should I be doing and any info on what may of caused this - every other program I use appears to be working fine.

    Thanks in advance - Mark

Best thing to try first is make a back up copy of the ActinicCatalog.mdb in the site folder and then using Access, open the original and use the compact and repair database tool.

If you don't have Access then there are other tools I believe that you can use - I recall seeing some mentioned on here at some point.

Thank you - support had a look yesterday, not resolved yet, but issue is narrowed down to the Home Page.

Entire site works as normal when I am not connected to the Internet - when connected to the Internet I can flick between Product Detail screen and Page Preview screen as normal - but click the Home Page icon and software instantly crashes.

edit - I've now narrowed this down to any page that has a YouTube video embedded on it - and it appears to be only on this laptop ( I put the current snap shot into same version of Sellerdeck on another PC) and can't duplicate any problem.

This laptop had a Widows update overnight Wednesday - could it be something to do with that ?

        Similar Problem

I had a similar problem when embedding a YouTube video on a homepage, and sorted it the easiest way by doing a link to the video rather than embedding it. This reduces the problem with a large file, which can slow everything down and use up bandwidth.

You can hide content (e.g. YouTube videos) in Preview mode.

This post will help - just put the blockif around the YouTube video or what ever content is retrieving data from the internet.

            Thanks Sarah,

Thing is my site as far as embedded video content has been much the same since upgraded to 16 back in February of this year.......only thing that has "changed" is the number of orders sat within it ...... so having thought this through over and over, I changed the "do not show completed orders more than xx days" to 10 and it's all working again, or at least has been since 5pm today.

Goz's suggestion of blocking the youtube videos in preview mode makes a lot of sense.

It might not just be a bandwidth thing. Youtube preloads the video player and has a lot of scripts running to control the videos, track playing, track the viewer, control the player size, ensure their player stays on top, make sure that clicking 'youtube' takes you to youtube, etc, etc. It could easily be something new in their scripting that is not playing nicely with sellerdeck in desktop mode and causing the crash (and possible cured it too).

If you aren't blocking it in preview mode then it might be best to.
