Hello everyone. I’ve been a lurker on here for a while now, so I figure it’s about time I made a post... particularly seeing as I now have something interesting to talk about!

We have been using Actinic software to underpin our e-commerce activities since late 2005, and over the last four years it has proven itself to be utterly reliable and very user friendly. Around this time last year we first came across Green Jersey, when we began making tentative steps towards identifying companies to use to redesign our logo and produce a brand new Actinic e-commerce website for us. After some brief introductory contact and on the back of making a few calls to some of their existing clients for references, we soon realised that Green Jersey was a firm contender. Shortly after, the utterly striking Green Jersey-designed Urban Rider site went live and the rest, as they say, is history – after seeing that site for the first time, we simply knew we had to work with them!

Roll on twelve months and our new brand image and website is now live. It has been a frightfully long time in the making, and while blood, sweat and tears would be an overstatement, it is fair to say that it has required a vast amount of coffee, chocolate and late nights in order to be produced! From the off, we wish to make clear that whilst what you read within the site is very much our own work, what you see and can do on it on the other hand is entirely the work of Green Jersey. Here is a summary of the most important features of the site...

    • Use of integrated light and dark themes to differentiate between product sales and services

    • A highly customised WordPress blog seamlessly integrated within the Actinic layout

    • Options to shop by product type, process or brand, plus a unique quick shop feature

    • Multiple, dynamic top quality product photography including high-quality zoom feature

    • Tabbed product information, including We Say, Description, How To Use and Specification

    • Tabbed specification graphics automatically produced from over fifty custom variables

    • Stock level indicators: In Stock, Low Stock, Back Order, No Stock and Pre-Order

    • Related products suggested on each individual product page

    • Integrated Google Maps

    • HD quality video served from an embedded Kaltura video platform

    • Twitter integration

    • Accordion effect to simplify lengthy pages

    • Extensive illustrated reference material for customers

Here is a link to Green Jersey’s own article about the development process, which they describe as their most ambitious project yet...

...and here is a link to our musings about working with Green Jersey...

To whet your taste buds, here are a couple of screenshots showing the light and dark themes...

    Finally, here it is...

This is our first site built with Actinic Enterprise. Big improvement over our old site and has resulted in a marked increase in sales.

www.bumpbirthandbeyond.co.uk ... add something to the cart and watch the teddy appear in the trolley icon top right!

www.babysoy.co.uk ... another baby site by sheer coincidence

www.pestcontroldirect.co.uk ... definitely not baby related

                          cscapes photography

Launched a few weeks back using Actinic v9.

The gallery on the homepage is generated straight from the standard new products marketing list inside Actinic.

                            Pack Safe Products

Another from a few weeks back built in Actinic v9. The original design was retained and Bikster sorted the split sections in the left hand navigation and the quantity pricing layout shown on the above page. The option boxes were converted so only one box can be ticked at anyone time.

After a few hiccups, my first Actinic site to actually go live is up...

                              http://www.rhinogb.com/

Still needs a little work to be done, (I think this will be an ongoing project) but thanks to all who answered my questions on the board.
