    Network Settings

    Hi

I am trying to create a quick website for a community project. They have no budget so I thought I would be able to create them a simple quick website using my V8 licence. I have paid for a basic hosting package provided by Fasthost. The problem is I can't upload without an error. Fasthost don't seem to know anything about Actinic. The site does upload but gets a merge error. When viewing the site www.aefes.co.uk the site has uploaded but if you click on a product you get a "The requested URL /cgi-bin/ss000001.pl was not found on this server." error message.

The hosting file management does not allow me to set permissions so I have used putty to set htdocs to 755, cgi-bin to 755, acatalog to 777

    Here are my network settings:

I have just seen a message from another user saying the new Fasthost packages don't work with Actinic/SellerDeck.

        Thanks for your reply.

I am trying to move it over to an old hosting package I have with Fasthost (that I don't really use). Typical - you try and do someone a favour and it turns out into a nightmare! I thought it would only take me a few hours to create them a really basic website!

Even on the old hosting package (that was working when assigned to another domain) is now getting a merge error.

When I look at the host directory it is missing the .htaccess file.

I think this might be the problem (attached image)? Can anyone advise what I need to select for actinic V8?

So I went ahead and ticked all the boxes in the host scripting and it is working now!
