    Quick Search Question

    Hi All,

One of the sites I am working on has an interesting Quick Search issue.

It wont return results if 2 Search words are entered.

    Eg:
    - If I search for "Apple" I get a page of results.
    - If I search for "Cat" I get a page of results.
    - If I search for "Apple Cat" I get "No results found" and it bounces onto the home page.

Yet on other sites we look after, we get results for multiple words in the Quick Search Input.

Any idea what the issue could be?

    Cheers

    Grant

Would this be something to do with the script that runs the search - or the generated search index ??

When you search for 'apple cat' it looks for 'apple cat' in the index, it does not look for 'apple' and 'cat'.

I have tried a Help / Troubleshooting / Purge Refresh - but this did not alter anything....

Have you tried searching as: 'apple AND cat'.

            It won't do as outlined.

I have replaced the search .pl and .pm files with those from the default installation and refreshed the website.

              Once again, nothing changed.

I still cant search for 2 words in the quick search - only 1

Looking through other Actinic shops I am able to enter 2 words.

So, I know Actinic can do it.

Is there a setting somewhere that limits the number of words entered into the Quick Search input??

              Sounds odd if there is...

Ahh, found it - yes there is a setting that limits the user to having only 1 word in the search - fixed here
