The .cat files are where the product details (price, etc) are kept.

The .CAT files are Perl data structures that contain information about your site. There's one for each Section and some with overall settings. Try a Refresh to rebuild it.
P.S. Having Perl structures as a kludgy database system was a great idea 17 years ago. Perl was the only server side language in widespread use and security wasn't an issue. Today they are an abomination and should have been replaced with a modest server side database many years ago.Norman - www.drillpine.biz
