The search results template is corrupt. No search results XML found.

    Hi there,

I seem to have a problem with the 'search results template' but I don't know how to fix it, or if that's really the problem.

    Here are the symptoms:
    1. Doing a search yields this error "The search results template is corrupt. No search results XML found."
    2. Opening the "Search and filtering settings" dialog pops up an error "The parameter is incorrect" before showing the dialog, and if I change anything then the same error pops up when I press Apply, and when I close the dialog.

You can try it here: http://mobi.ursulajames.com/ (only on the mobile site. The desktop site seems fine)

I've tried a website refresh but it didn't work.
I'm loathe to do a website purge and refresh as I have a slow connection and 2GB of MP3s. I'll do it if someone knows that that is required.

    Any advice gratefully received.
    Kind regards,
    Phil Benjamin

    Hi Phil,

It's been a while since you posted your request for help and I'm having the exact same problem that you describe. Did you ever resolve the issue and if so what did you do to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Anthony

      Um... let me think

      Hi there,

It was a while back and I believe what I did was completely erase and recreate the code for the search box. Obviously took a copy first so that my customisations could be introduced back bit by bit until the error was found.

As for the errors with the dialog box, that still happens but doesn't seem to cause any other problems.
      Kind regards,
      Phil Benjamin

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm working on resetting the templates, but haven't identified the missing/offending code yet. Although I have found that components and attributes cause "The parameter is incorrect" error, but they aren't even used in the site. I'll keep plugging away at it.

        Thanks,

        Anthony
