    Cannot Download Orders

    Hi All,

We have a client that today cannot download orders.

Was fine on Saturday, but not today.

They are getting the Error message saying that the issue might be something to do with CGI script on the server not working, low disk space etc etc

But the server is fine, the server people say nothing has changed and there is loads of space. The paths and scripts would all be OK as orders are being received this morning - just not able to download them.

They have compacted the database, restarted the router etc - they can upload, but just not download.

Any clues as to what the issue may be?

    Kind regards

    Grant

        Hi Duncan,

I have checked with them and they say not.

Our client can upload OK, just not download.

Could there be an update ont eh server that would only affect downloading?

That's what I was thinking. Have they tried a network test?

            Hi Duncan,

Yep - network test comes back without issue.

Ah, it now seems that orders are being downloaded, just that that error message comes up.

A corrupt order could be at fault here, they have received a payment for an order that does not download.

Is there a way to purge the orders waiting on the server, or clear them out?

Orders are stored on the server with a .ord suffix.

You could try moving them to temp holding directory and even copy them back one by one to download as needed. You'll probably need to manually change the file permissions to do anything with them.

There should also be corresponding payment files with a .occ suffix.

                    Hi Mike,

We have moved the oldest order ocd and occ file to a separate folder, but still cannot download orders.

There are other orders there waiting, but they are dates after the first instance of not being able to download.

The network test still reports fine.

                    Anything else we can try?

I'm a little bit confused over whether they can download orders or not.

You could try moving older orders out of the way, it also might be worth relaxing the permissions on the order files just in case the hosts have changed something that's getting in the way.

It might also be worth refreshing the site in case one of the scripts has become corrupted. I suspect this unlikely to be the case, but there's not much more I can think of.

A compact of the sellerdeck database could also be worth a try.

The fact that you're raising this on the customer's behalf also raises the question of whether you ever upload from a different copy of sellerdeck than your customer and whether they might be out of sync / Have different encryption settings.

                        Hi Mike,

It would seem that the orders downloaded were orders before a possible corrupted order. The following orders were not being downloaded.

However, after quarantining the suspected bad order, and a site refresh, orders seem to be being downloaded now.

                        Which is good
