    Hi there

When you installed the software, a second installation will have started after you had installed Epos, this installs the Epson Opos drivers for your hardware.

During this installation, it asked if you have a registry file to browse to, if you click to browse and go to C:\checkout\Opos 2***\Disk1 there will be a fiel in there called checkout.reg, this holds the setup info for the equipment you are using.

Once you have done that, you can then test your hardware works by going into the Opos setup, through Start/Programs, right clicking the printer model you have set up there under devices, and selecting 'healthcheck interactive' this should print off a test reciept.

If that works, then it will work in the Epos software - so long as you have printing checked in Setup from the Main Menu.

    Hope that helps

      A simlar problem with printing

We have a TM-T88iiiP printer connected via a parrallel to USB lead.

When setting up the Opos software we experienced the following error when performing a checkhealth.

We believe we have set up the Opos correctly and wonderd if the problem is something else?

Error occured in calling the checkhealth method

      Claim(500) = 106 (0x00000006a)

      ResultCodeExtended = 10002 (0x00002712)

We have tested the printer and it's printing when running in test mode.

      Thanks for your help!!

        Hi,

Can you tell me what the firmware version is of the printer please.

        - switch off the printer
        - press feed button
        - keep this button pressed and switch the printer on
        - a receipt should be printed that states the firmware version (needs to be 3.42 or higher).

            Hi,

OK, that sounds fine. Can you now check in the OPOS software, if you expand the 'Device' node on the tree and then expand the 'POSPrinter' option and highlight your printer - does it say 'unit1' on the right hand side?

If not, then you will have to remove that device (right-click and select 'Delete) and then right-click on the 'POSPrinter' option and select 'Add New Device'. Set your printer and model from the drop-down boxes and in the 'Add New LDN' field type 'unit1'. Click 'Next' and select the relevant 'COM Port'. The 'Baud Rate' should be 9600bps (all other options can be the defaults). Then click the 'CheckHealth Interactive' button. Do you get the same message?

Note that all devices should have a LDN of 'unit1'.

              Thanks Tracey.

We have setup as you indicated and have tried all 8 com ports to no avail (we are still seeing the error message)

Would the Paralell to USB lead we have be causing us problems? for the TM-88iiiP printer?

              TM-88iiiP(with Paralell input) <<<<<<Lead<<<<<<<< Computer(USB output)

Or could it be something else?

                Hi there

Do you have a spare serial port on the back of your pc you can use, rather than using the USB adapter - the standard Opos setup is for serial.

If you dont have a serial port on the back of your pc let me know, and I will have to dig out the USB settings for you.

                Hope that helps

                  Hi James

It's a brand new dell and it only came with USB connectors apart from the moniter port! If you can get the USB settings that would be great.

                  Thanks

                    Hi there

If you go into your device manager, and go into Ports (Com & Lpt), can you see your USB ports listed in there - if so, they should be allocated a com port number - if you can see that, then you can set select the appropiate com port in the Opos setup that you have the printer connected to, by right clicking the printer and selecting communication settings.

We have succesfully printed a Word document to the TM-88iiiP via the USB to P cable? so are little confused as to why opos is not recognising / communicating with the printer when we perform a check-health when windows is able to?

When adding a new device to the opos we are seleting the correct printer and the TM-88iiiU option as we are communicating via USB

However we are not presented with any options for ports on the next screen except [none] the default option (I assume we should be seeing and able to select a port that corresponds to the printer connection which in this case is USB001.

Please help! we are still seeing the error popup on. (and have tried everything)

Best buy a serial card for about £10 and connect the printer to this.

Have you tried setting the printer config to the model with the /p suffix in the drop down menu in OPOS - I originally had problems with the parallel port model and this resolved it.
