Shipping charges for selected section ?

Is it possible to offer free shipping by order value to the entire catalog except one section ?

Reason being one of our sections is frozen / perishable fish food and this has to go on a next day courier, plus needs relatively expensive bespoke packaging.

I tried “shipping by category” and creating a category for the perishable items, but I don’t think using “shipping by category” allows you to refine it to “free over a value” – just a fixed fee that you choose ?

Not sure if the post below would help you do this by setting up fake weights within one section for those products, will only work if you are using weight based shipping.

This is how I stopped express delivery on some made to order lines, you could maybe use the same setup to your products.

Thank you Lee. I did spend hours last Saturday sat in front of a fan trying all manor of things, but although I got close to achieving what I thought I wanted to do – I didn't manage it.

All the major e-commerce businesses in my industry (we are more Sunday league than Premier league) offer free shipping on orders over £49, some a little more. Most I would expect have better buying power than us.

I’ve always set up to be better value if I can, and actually have in stock and available what I am advertising on my site (many other sites don’t!) – but then add the carriage and the amount paid is much the same. As a high street retail shop it’s never sat well with me that if you visit us you pay the same as somebody having their order sent to them, there is after all no such thing as free delivery, somebody pays.

That said, I don’t actually recall a situation where it’s been raised by a customer as an issue, although I do get people call and say things like “is xyz in stock, it says £25 each on your web site”

When it cools down a bit, I’ll have another go !

It's something similar we've been asking Sellerdeck to improve/update the shipping... which hasn't changed for... maybe 20+ years.
- weight workaround we've avoided, and "category" should be the thing that makes this work, but doesn't (another bugged/50% developed function in Sellerdeck?)

Basically, we want :

#1 : Products to have a tick box for "Send on Tracked Shipping" (For you also the "Section" then Products are marked accordingly)
#2 : Shipping Services to have a ticked box for "Tracked Shipping"
#3 : On checkout filter out accordingly

So : Everything is lowest shipping option, except orders with at least 1 item are are marked as "Tracked Shipping"

There is no function in Sellerdeck for this, there could be a wishlist item in SD.

Looking at it... (8 years later)... the steps are all there... if someone here knows how to do each step, would make it work!
- it has "estimate" days = assuming someone who knows what they are doing... (or throw it at AI)
