    Alternative Shipping Weights

We have a number of products on our site, that although are extremely lightweight, have a high value so need to be sent with a courier rather than with the royal mail.

Eg. A bracelet. Actual weight when packed, 0.300kg. To send with a courier, it would have an equivalant weight of say 5kg.

We have set up an "Alternative Weight" class (based on alternative weight) which takes this into account and entered an alternative weight of 5kg into the product weight area. We have entered 0.3kg in the "Weight in kg".

However, when in the checkout area and selecting the shipping service, whilst the alternative weight shipping charge is being selected and displayed by default, the user is also being offered the cheaper royal mail service based on the braclets actual weight.
The user is naturally going to select the cheapest option. This is not what we want as it is clearly not suitable to send a braclet through the standard mail service.

    What have we done wrong?

Product Shipping Categories. (Under the title "How can I charge shipping based on the type of product being sent" in actinic's help file)

    Quick Run Down:
Business Setting --> Shipping and Handling --> product shipping categories

U will need to create another category, call it say "courier".

Then in the Zone/Class Tables tab, select categories in the basis drop drown box.
There you can set up the cost for each category.

Once you have chosen the price you want to charge, go to the products you need to charge more for and choose the category under Details.
