    Moving the best Sellers List

    Good Morning.
This is my first post to this Forum as I’ve just purchased my first copy of Actinic (Catalog). I'm a bit of a newbie to Actinic so I have what’s probably a simple question about Best Seller and new Products locations.

I am using the Smart template to design my site. I have reviewed the Site options\layout\New product List and Best Seller Prefaces. I want to have the best Seller list displayed on the right of the screen below the Shopping Cart. When i enable this it only ever displays this on the left side.
Has anyone any idea how i can move this......

    Thanks

    JB

Hi and Welcome to the Community.

Have you looked at the "Getting Started" Guide? there's asection called "designing your store" you will need to understand variables and how to move them around your layout.

take a backup snapshot before you start,so you can roll back if you need

Thanks, I've looked at the Getting Started guide. I'm not that comfortable with variables, but I'll have another look at this. Thanks for your help

there's no simple menu item to swap bestsellers from left to right. your only option is to use the design tab or choose a theme where they are on the right.

TBH smart theme is a touch dated so a newer theme wouldn't be a disaster

The actinic design course would be a good idea if you wish to get involved in this area, but haven't really got a clue where to start at the moment. The alternative is to to understand variables and layouts and positioning in relation to others, which is just practice and experience really. Look for the pink underlined links, these are the layouts inserted into various areas across the site. For the site you want to be looking at the 'overall layout' on the design tab. Just snapshot before you play, if you wreck it, import the snapshot and start again.

PS - The design wizard lets you select where it shows, maybe using that design is a happy medium?
