    Actinic 11 Discount Code

    Hi

I'm currently trying to set up discount codes using Actinc 11. I'm unsure how these work and have tried going to the Order Level tab in Discounts Surcharges & Coupons. (see attached) I've entered the correct dates and ticked Accept Single Use Coupon Codes and generated a code at 10% off over 0.01 and when I try to use it for a test on the website it accepts it but doesnt take off the 10%. It does say that 10% is being deducted on the checkout and when I used the discount code once (as I'd set it up to do) it wouldnt let me use it again as you'd expect. I'm obvously overlooking something but I can't seem to pin point what it is. I'd hugely appreciate any help on this.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hello Elissa

Is there a website, test or live, that we can have look up this on?

        Hi Elissa

I tried placing a test order using the discount code provided. I added one instance of the 'Handmade Ceramic Cable Knit Sweater Bowl. Purl One! ' product and I get a message to the effect that a cart value of more than £100.00 will trigger a 5% discount. Once I update the product quantity to 4, I indeed get a 5% discount on the cart total.
        Screenshots attached for reference.

Has the discount amount changed, as you have mentioned 10% above. Moreover, could you check if you also have any discount enabled in the Cart Contents tab?

So I think that comes from the Order Adjustment Example that the software came with. For the 10% code I added time restrictions to it but it seems to be set up the same apart from that. (see attached)

As an aside, how would you use these to generate gift tokens?

          Many thanks,

          Elissa

            Hi Elissa

You can disable the Order Adjustment Example, so Actinic will not consider it when checking for discount triggers.

            Could you give an example?

Thanks so much for helping with the discount voucher codes - I think the fact that I had the example running as well as the one I had set up was the problem.

I think that I have found out how to generate gift vouchers by adding 'cart value' and 'amount' (see attached). I have set up the different voucher options (£10, £25, £50 etc) as product items in Actinic and was planning to hand generate them every time someone purchases one - is there a way of doing this automatically every time one is purchased?

              Many thanks.

                Hello Elissa

Great to know the first issue is sorted for you.

Re the discount voucher system, do you plan to allow customers to purchase the vouchers as physical products for redeeming on their subsequent purchases? Or, will they be using a pre-received coupon code, that will entitle them to a discount value for their current purchase?

The first, I feel would be a tad complicated, unless other Actinic users have alternate suggestions. The latter can be implemented in a comparatively easier way. Please let me know.

                Regards
