    Accounts Setup

Trying to get accounts to work properly.
This is a fully working test site.

These are the links we have in a sidebar box on the site:

    Login: http://www.calamander2.co.uk/acatalog/login.html

    Logout: http://www.calamander2.co.uk/cgi-bin...?ACTION=LOGOUT

    [to view] Account: http://www.calamander2.co.uk/acatalog/myaccount.html

Login and Logout appear to work correctly.

Account does not - the Account page is shown whether logged in or not; in fact, clicking the Account link logs the user out!
As you can see the Account page just shows NETQUOTEVARS etc.

Additionally, while logged in, it seems that the user is logged out in a random fashion if they don't stick to just viewing product pages.

    Any pointers gratefully received.

    Cheers
    Sean

    Morning Sean,

There was a bug in the 11.0.1 version which was supposedly fixed in 11.0.2 - however I'm wondering if there is some sort of connection as your own issue has similarities...

    From the Release Notes:

Resolved an issue that could cause loss of login information when clicking through to a Product Page, AC11-2075

    Just a thought...

      Thanks Paul
      I wasn't aware of that.
      We're on V11.0.3 ...

Yes, I noticed that from a ver.fil check (sorry, I should have made that clear) - I just wondered if perhaps the same bug hasn't been entirely eradicated, or worse still was somehow reintroduced in the move from 11.0.2 to 11.0.3? Your issue is uncannily similar.

        I'm probably way off

          Afternoon Sean,

Did you get any help with this? we've just started playing with user account, and we're getting a similar problem with users being logged out when clicking on certain links.

We're using a custom DHTML menu, and I suspect it's that causing a problem, as the user doesn't get logged out when clicking standard <a href... links used in the galleries etc.

If you use absolute links you may end up getting logged out.

Good point Louise - we had one rogue absolute which was causing a little bother.

However, in the end, after much faffing, we took the job to Support who fixed it for us.
Turned out there was some missing code; don't know why as we hadn't [deliberately] removed any.

The support chap was Johnny Rankin.
For his reference, support ticket was #48080.

I'm afraid I haven't had the time to fully investigate the changes he made to our site, but it does work.

              Cheers
