Sellerdeck Desktop slow under Windows 7

    Hi All,

I did search for a solution, honest!

Recently switched to a new PC running Windows 7. I am finding if I try to edit or switch between items in the Content Tree I get the spinning circle for ages. (SellerDeck V10.4) Everything in the menu bar is instant, its just when clicking between content items or between content window and design window.

Its making it impossible to change listings. Its like it is searching the complete database for every click. Just taken me 7 minutes to delete 4-5 product choices. Although occasionally it responds instantly!

I didn't have this problem on running on Vista, XP or even a little netbook running the early cut-down version of Win 7.

I have tried turning of McAfee, in case it was that.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

Slow running particularly when switching between pages / sections is usually caused by sellerdeck updating all the pages for previewing.

The usual culprit is external images / content. Typically things like 'Share this', SSL seals, etc that should be blocked from preview mode with a blockif.

      Thanks for the reply Mike,

Can you tell me where I should place that? I am not an expert.

Possibly your Twitter link Follow @The_Baby_Studio. This is loading external content. This isn't SellerDeck code (you must have put it there yourself) so no-one can tell you in detail how to fix it. In general, locate this code and put a BlockIf containing IsNotPreviewMode around it.

          Thanks Norman,

Yes I put it there a long time ago, I have not tested it for ages. I'll find where it is and take it off.

          Thanks
