    <ACTINIC: nnn> tags list

Is there a list of the Actinic tags and their purposes somewhere?
    Kind regards,

    Making text unsearchable

I'm sure I saw a 'Search' related tag once, so I wondered if there was a 'don't search' tag that could be used to make sure a certain bit of text is not searched on.

Basically, I have loads of MP3s, and there is a bit of text that is the same for all of them, so if anybody searches on those words, they get every MP3 in the list coming up.

I would like to remove that text from the search.

    Any ideas welcome.
    Kind regards,
    Phil Benjamin

You can add words you do not want included at Search settings however that will remove any words not a phrase, a variable does not get searched or put text into the layout.

        Thank you

Of your three suggestions, the first one is no good for exactly the reason you mentioned.
The third one (put in a layout) is the current situation, so are you sure that is meant to work?

I like the second idea anyway, and will try it and report back.
        Kind regards,

          Fail

          Hi there,

          Unfortunately, that didn't work either.

I have a variable, that can be set at the section or product level.
I have set it at the section level and the products are set to be same as parent.

          I search. It finds.

You can test it here: http://www.ursulajames.com/acatalog/uj_a_mp3.html

Search for the word 'human' and you will find all the CDs and MP3s on the site (I have only done it for MP3s so far), but the word human is only found in the variable text, that is used for the clickable link at the bottom of the product section.

          Am I doing something wrong?
          Kind regards,
          Phil Benjamin

            Where is text?

The product page has a 'product page layout' which has layouts within it.

ProductName and ProductDescription are within this layout.
            <actinic:variable name="UJLayout" value="UJ 2013 Further Info - MP3s" /> is also within it.
            Within that layout, I now have a variable: <actinic:variable name="UJ 2013 Standard MP3 Text" />

The text within that variable is:
"All of Ursula James' MP3s use clinical hypnosis; a safe and effective way of making real, beneficial Change.<br><br>They contain only the relaxing sound of a human voice - no distracting music or white noise has been added*. The suggestions made are simple and safe, and only those that are beneficial to you will be accepted. Nobody can make you do anything against your will. In fact, these MP3s increase your personal control, enhance your ability to relax and help you to respond in a more confident manner generally.<br><br>When listening to the MP3s you will be physically relaxed and mentally focused. You will hear and remember everything that is important to you, and you will only take on board suggestions which are positive and safe for you.<br><br>*Does not apply to the Bereavement range or The Source Trance.</p> <center><hr width="40%"></center><p style="margin:20px 20px 20px 20px;">Please note that the SUCCESS Candle offer is not available with MP3 downloads.<br><br>When you order your MP3, you will receive an email within minutes, that has a simple link to the download. Please note that the download has an expiry period of 24 hours, so you should make your purchase at a time when you will be able to carry out the download. If the period expires you will need to contact the Ursula James Shop to get the download repeated.<br/><br/>Note to iPhone, iPad and iPod users: Did you know that Apple do not allow you to download an MP3 to your mobile device without iTunes? To download this MP3 to your device, you will first need to download it to a computer, and then use iTunes to transfer it in the normal way. <center><b>Enjoy the benefits!</b></center><br>"

            It appears to be searchable.
            Kind regards,
            Phil Benjamin

              Still not working

I have made sure the variable is not searchable. The only box ticked is: Allow Empty Value

I want all of the text in the variable to not be searched, so that is okay. It doesn't currently appear to be working as it is supposed to.
              Kind regards,
              Phil Benjamin

                Solved!

These were two separate problems but your comment got me thinking.

Because of the earlier problem, I had to make my Extended Information field searchable. That way, words that I wanted to be found, but not to appear, could be placed in there.

However, it meant taking out the text I had in every Extended Information field, and putting it into the layout.

When my search started finding the text in the new layout, I got confused.

The reason was that I only cleared out one Extended Information field in order to test it. The rest of them had the same words that I put in the new layout. So the new layout was working perfectly, but the search was finding the words in the Extended Information field as it was now searchable. (I hope that was clear).

I have now cleared out the text from all of the Extended Information fields and it works properly.

Thank you so much for your assistance.
                Kind regards,
                Phil Benjamin
