    "keep contact private"

    Not up to speed here (watching tennis at 2.15 this morning!), but noticed a while back on the printed invoice that some customers saying "yes" to "keep contact private"

    Does this mean that their sale is excluded from say "Feefo" requests?

    Just curious to the implications also because we use Interlink Express in the main and enter all the customers contact details into their system....is this an issue?

    Be careful with this field as we found that the MOTO form (for offline orders) did not remember whether the box was ticked or not.

      We have similar problem

      We print out the datasheets, and bring the orders into Sage for processing. We have noticed on some datasheets that it says Keep Details Private: Yes, below the email address below the invoice address. However, nowhere on our website do we have this enabled, and we can't find out how to remove it from the datasheet, which does not matter in itself, but it would matter if the customer sees this anywhere. We keep everybody's details private apart from what is necessary to deliver their goods, ie providing address details etc to the carrier. I posted on here some time ago about this but didn't receive any response. Does anybody know where this question is enabled and where it appears to the customer, if it does? We have checked places like the customer's login/registration.

        I think it is found as part of the check boxes at

        design/text/web site (cont)/invoice address

          I am concerned that by passing the email address and order details to Feefo that the customers request is not being met?

            What are you asking them at checkout?

            Normally, the website uses this to ask the customer if they want to be added to the mailing list.

              I just ran two dummy orders through my checkout, I could not see where the customer has the option to select this.

              However I put one through using the "remember my details" check box - this then had the "keep private" ticked on download.

              The other I put through not ticking "remember my details" and this one downloaded with the "keep private" not ticked.

                Ah. That's interesting. It sounds like this is maybe being set by default when the 'remember my details' box has been ticked.

                Which kind of makes sense in a roundabout way. Sort of 'remember my details' and therefor 'keep them private'.

                I can't see any way of setting the default for this. It might need a script change.

                  Same here

                  In design/text/web site (cont)/invoice address we have Invoice Privacy Check not ticked.

                  However, we have Remember Me ticked in this setting.

                  So it would appear that our problem has the same cause as mje's - the ticking of Remember Me.

                  As long as the customer does not see anything about keeping details private, then I am not too bothered. If they do, what bothers me is that this suggests that we might not keep everybody's details private anyway, other than to be able to deliver the goods.

                    So, not to worry about it then really... I also noticed that I can un tick the box when viewing the order, so guess it really is not that important.
