    v9 Showcase Sites

This is a thread to showcase v9 sites.

We had one for v8 some time ago but that was a long while back and I thought we could revive the principle for v9.

The thread is not intended to stimulate critical comment nor to check for issues with the sites, it is intended purely to showcase new sites, so please do not post any critique.
If you want feedback and comments on your site then please start yourself a new thread. (Replies to posts may be deleted to keep the thread on track)

If you want to post and add your site then please include links to the site to showcase it and include any information about it that may be of interest such as add-ons used etc, but please do not ask for comment nor post any response.

Please add the following onto the end of your posts in bold:
    * In keeping with the intention of this v9 Showcase thread please do not post any critique.

    www.kjbeckett.com

www.kjbeckett.com was a v7 site originally built by the owner and has thrived well since. The client brief was very specific and well detailed and the request was for a typically formal, up market, corporate style in keeping with the products and market demographics.

The design was completely re-written for v9 but the product data was extracted from the old v7 site and integrated back into the new v9 site.

The site includes good examples of some of Norman's add-ins (www.drillpine.biz) such as Greybox, NorPrice and Tabber; the tabber being specially modified for the site.

It also includes a couple of additional navigation enhancements such as a custom Prev/Next buttons on the product pages (www.kjbeckett.com/acatalog/imperial-cufflinks-acmestudio.html) and multiple page linker buttons on many section pages (www.kjbeckett.com/acatalog/acmestudio_p2.html)

The site also includes a live clock on the Contact Us page (www.kjbeckett.com/cgi-bin/mf000001.pl?ACTION=SHOWFORM) primarily to help North American customers.

Care was taken to maintain all original meta information as well as page titles and page names to make the change over as seamless as possible with the search engines. There is a plan in place to further simplify the css coding after 'settling in'.

The site is now handed over and live but will still undergoing client updates and additional pages so information may still be missing on some pages.

The project included a custom Excel workbook to simplify and speed up data entry for the client as well as a customised invoice.

The site is hosted on a UK based Pinbrook (www.pinbrook.net) dedicated server.

Designed and built by Genesis Technical Ltd (www.genesistechnical.co.uk)

My site is still very much a work in progress and my first attempt at a solo site and it's V9 catalogue. Some mods have been done mainly with the help of the forum members here.

                  Denbigh Army Surplus

Originally a V8 site, but has been upgraded to V9 successfully. It's slowly being converted over to SPP.

Pretty much standard Actinic Layout that has been tweeked over the last 18 months.
                  • Modified TLS layout is used in a Home Page Fragment
                  • Add to Cart buttons and shortened descriptions used on product parent sections
                  • Normans Lightbox Add-On
                  • A neat little use of block ifs and JS to hide the buy button on certain products that are restricted to UK delivery (Thanks go out to a few forum regulars for helping with that)
                  • Google Feedback and ratings JS within product layout

                    Makeitnow

                    Originally V8, upgraded to V9.
                    Modified Smart Theme:
CGI-bin menu replaced with Drillpine's Collapso menu.
Converted mostly to SPP with the extended info pages that are left now opening in the main body, with header and footer info added.
Extra side boxes added for shipping and payment info.
Soapbox by Codepath added for product reviews
Blog via Wordpress recently launched under same domain
Various smaller tweaks- logo is homepage/shop link, site map links etc at bottom of page. Still work in progress, but hopefully an example of what can be achieved without knowledge of HTML or CSS.

I thought I would take part in this thread with Sporties Online:

                      http://actinic.sportiesonline.com/

Its still very much work in progress, Em, my wife that runs the store is still migrating about 2000 products over from the various online sites she runs.

She is hoping to go live next week.

Its running v9.0.3 Business Plus with Actinic hosting and payments (this may come as little shock to you ).

The site is a collection of my random thoughts magically glued together by Chris @ randomriver.net and a pretty significant upgrade from its previous life.

                              Some V9 sites I've done:

                              http://www.panik-design.com (uses Norman's LightBox plugin)
http://www.staychilled.com (has some custom JQuery stuff)
                              http://www.inspirationalelements.co.uk (uses Norman's LightBox plugin)
                              http://www.firststopaquatics.co.uk

All are very bespoke and designed from scratch.

Got a couple more on the go but not ready to be viewed yet.
