What is PCI DSS and how does it apply to me?

Sellerdeck Payments by Opayo and Sellerdeck Payments by NMI will be sunsetting on 31st May 2023. On the 1st of June, these payment gateways will no longer be available to process new transactions. We will maintain the service for an additional month to allow for refunds and downloading of reports.

Sellerdeck Payments by Opayo and Sellerdeck Payments by NMI are being replaced by SellerdeckPay powered by ClearAccept:

PCI DSS is a compulsory standard for all companies that store or process payment card information. PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is hard to achieve. The level of compliance required depends on the volume of card transactions processed per annum. If you process low volumes of transactions, you can be self accredited. However, it is important to realise that even when you are self accredited, you still have to maintain the same full security standards.

There are severe penalties if card information is compromised as a result of non-conformance with PCI DSS. As part of your agreement with your aquirer, you agree to these penalties.

If you use Sellerdeck Payments powered by Creditcall, you will not store or process credit card details directly. You will be using the Creditcall service which is PCI DSS Level one compliant.

The official body responsible for PCIDSS can be found at https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/.
