    Moving site folder location

We are about to move to multiple user access and I wanted to move our ‘sites’ folder from a local machine onto the server.

Is there a way to do this, or do I have to reinstall the software and specify the server drive as the location for site folder.

    Thanks

There seems to be a registry setting for this.

Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Actinic\Catalog9\Sites for key SitesFolder. Copy everything to new location, change key to suit and see if that does it.

I've used this before to move the location within my disk drives. Not sure if a UNC pathname will be valid so you'll have to try it.

As always, backup everything before tinkering.

You can change the sites directory in the sites dialog. Before you do this, copy the sites from your local machine to the server and then make the change in the sites directory. When you do this, you old sites will be found and you will be asked whether you wish to use these, say yes.

        Thanks, worked a treat.

Just trying to sort the multi-user access now that sites are on the server, not going well due to server sync issues

In v12 (2013) the folder is at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SellerDeck\2013\Sites and there is a sites folder and a default folder, the sites folder specifying the folder location

in v14 there is a folder at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SellerDeck\2014\Sites but only the default entry is present.

Can I add a line to give a sites folder location or will something break?

          Thank you.

            Hi Jonathan.

In V14 it is now located in program data rather than the registry.

This can be located in C:\ProgramData\SellerDeck 2014 and is called config.ini.
you might need to show hidden folders from the control panel in order to access this.

The line you are after is the 2nd line in the file.

            "[Installation]
            SitesFolder=C:\Users\Public\Documents\SellerDeck 2014\Sites"

Note: When saving the file it might say you do not have permission. The work around is to copy the config file, edit the copy. delete the original and then rename the copy back to config.

            Thanks.
