Is this a SaaS only? No download and host my own?
Its a SaaS service, as mentioned it will replace the current Express offering. Pricing and features will be announced in the coming weeks. Actinic Online's offering will be a little different to the current Oxatis product.

Windows, but remember its SaaS the user doesn't have to worry about hosting or infrastructure.

For anyone wondering what SaaS stands for, it's Software as a Service, something you pay to use basically.

not sure that Actinic has a list yet but there is one at Oxatis, Gabe (I printed it!) Is that what you meant?

[EDIT] Actually, I take that back! It's all vanished lol
Now to be replaced with links to Actinic and this

                  Hi,

Does anyone know if the new Actinic Online version will allow Google Adsense ads to be included on my shop? I can't find the answer in the product info pages.

                  Thanks

just got the news letter about the actinic online bit and have a few questions

                    there are only two plans
                    100 products £19 p/m
                    500 products £35 p/m

                    1) is it not possible to have larger stores?

                    2) were are the servers located

3)what are the support hours, still 9 to 5

so far this is not looking as impressive as i had hoped, the costs seem a little high for so few products?

when i have time i'll look at the free 30 day trial and see what its really like, but the news letter mentions things that are to come. Forgive me but i am used to this meaning a long wait when actinic say it's in the pot.

we have over 800 products so it looks like we could not use this service. Plus one of the main feature market place integration for Amazon is £35 per month which seems quite a bit compared to other systems out there.

I dont like systems that charge you extra for this and that, one clear price please.

Why not offer more service levels like you do with catalog, business, multi user.

It would be good to have a buy once and host yourself option. No matter how big you get companies do go bust and that causes big problems for SAAS if it happens to you.

Actinic mains strength, it runs on your own server.

The main thing is an allowance of 1000 visitors or 15k page views per month, we can get that per day and we are really not a busy site. An extra 1000 visitors is £10 plus the vat so it is going to cost more in the region of £300 per month after tax as I see it.

same problem, we have a lot of hits by kids looking for sweets but no money to buy them with. Paying for visitors like this is not viable.

I can't help think this is the ecommerce equivalent of kids' noses steaming up the windows, with fingers smudging the glass, of sweet shops, and the shop owners paying for a window cleaner to clear up the mess!

Back to the topic: I think this powerful online version very much fulfils a role for "some" ecommerce merchants e.g.. fresh to market, however as with everything ecommerce it will not fulfil the role for "all" merchants.

                              Some Clarification

                              Hi All

I just wanted to reply to this thread with some information that will help clear things up in a few areas.

                              - The SmartFeeds tool (eBay and Amazon) is not an additional £35 per month.
The Oxatis system used to charge for this, but Actinic Online certainly won’t be. This will be included as part of your subscription.

                              - The limit of 1000 refers to Customers, not visitors. So somebody browsing your site without making a purchase will not count as a customer.

                              - The product limits of 100 and 500 are only temporary. Actinic Online is still in its 'soft launch' phase. More price bands will follow in time. If you have more than 500 products please call sales, we discuss this in more detail.

                              - Google Adsense could easily be integrated with Actinic Online.

Please let me know of you have any other questions, I will be more than happy to help.
                              Kind Regards

                              - Actinic Online also offers the eBay MarketPlace Manager to manage your ecommerce site and eBay shop all from the one system

hi, many thanks for the updates.
The market manager shows on the actinic site as free for 3 months

*For a minimum of 3 months the MarketPlace Manager is available free with all plans (usual cost £35 per month)

I take it after 3 months it will be free for all.

I see this as a good step for actinic and well past due. If you can get actinic payments set up with off line orders it is sure to be a big hit so long as the pricing structure is realistic.
