    % Discount

    Hi All.

I am looking for some help. I am trying add a % discount to items on my website and have tried grouping them and attaching a discount but then new price is not appearing.

I am selling lingerie and want to put certain lines into sale so need the customer to be able to see the original price and then the sale price.

    Can anybody help with this???

    Thanks xx

Ps. I am not wanting the percentage to come off at basket level but for it to appear at the product level e.g Was £28.00 - Now £22.00

The discount will only be shown at the checkout/basket, not on the product.

The easiest way is to change the product price and then add some text in the product description showing the original price.

You can better this and use a custom variable for the original price and insert that into the layout if you are happy modifying the layouts and understand how to use variables.

      RRP versus your price

      Duncan,

Thanks for that but I'm not skilled enough (yet) to be messing around with variables and layouts.

Perhaps I could achieve the same end using "Retail Price" and "Your Price", but I can't seem to get those to display either.

      Grateful for any suggestions?

      Thanks,

        Hi Laura,

'Retail Price' and 'Your Price' are used for logged in customers and will work on discounts on customer groups. If you are trying to show this for unregistered customers then maybe this kb article will help.

Laura this thread is perfect. I'm not technically minded but I managed to do it easily. As long as you back up before you start!

            Tracey/Donna,

That's great - I'm going to give it a try this weekend. Thanks ever so much.

Of course I'll backup first and try it on the test site before anything else - learned that lesson the hard way already

            Thanks,

            Laura
