    Email Error Meassage

    Hi..

Got a problem with sending emails on our new design www.joblottools.co.uk

The error message is [seen other threads but no solution for me]

Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

    Possible Cause:
    1. Network transmission problems.
    2. Could have Changed the SMTP Server settings, but not Uploaded after that.

    Recommendation:
    1. Retry
    2. Upload the Site First, if you have changed the SMTP Server Settings.

    Resolution:
If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
    or contact your ISP.

    The error was:
hanz_fritzenburger@hostname.co.uk Error returned from SMTP server (8: SMTP synchronization error

    Command: send Filename:

    All my network settings pass.

The site is hosted on the same server as our other 2 sites (addresses in my signature), only thing is that the joblot email are routed to the toolman address, WHICH is the same way as the toolmanonline is routed and that has no problems!

There is no "." in any of the address discussed in
    http://community.actinic.com/showthr...te+SMTP+server

Ive uploaded site and tried again, still the same error message.

Me and my IT entourage are stumped so any ideas will be greatly received.
Thanks in advance for any remarks

    Daniel,

Did you manage to sort this issue?
It's just started for us this morning and I don't think we are sending any conformation e-mails now!

      Chris,

You're hosted with 1&1 and they've changed something that's broken all Actinic sites they host. See http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=52814 for some gory details.

Suggest you read the above thread and then bother them by phone as they have caused a big problem with no warning to anyone.

We are having the same problem (using 1 and 1). All has been well for some years but at midnight on the 4th June we started to have "The 'SMTP server' address entered in the 'Web | Network Setup' is incorrect, or not a valid SMTP server."

1 and 1 support tell me that there hasn't been any changed at their end.

          Hi,

The person you spoke to to might not be that well informed. There is another thread about this isse have a look at http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=52814

This is clearly a 1 and 1 issue

read the big long thread about 1&1 smtp that Norman's linked to.

There seems to be a solution that works for many of us. Others seem to to be saying it's permanently broken which is odd as it works for me and some others. The best thing to do is try the posted solution and see if it works for you.

Mine was that I had a full stop where I shouldn't in my business settings.

I also had this on another site but fixed it when I noticed (for some reason) that my "use SSL" tab had been turned off..
Thanks in advance for any remarks
