Issue with PayPal Website Payment Standard

Issue with PayPal Website Payment Standard

We have been investigating an issue that has been reported to us regarding orders paid using PayPal being rejected and downloading to the Orders Pending PSP tab.
We have been working hard with PayPal to find the cause and solution to this as swiftly as possible. At the moment it looks as though PayPal have made a change and are rejecting valid addresses through their address verification systems. Currently PayPal do not have a solution but we are hopeful of a fix in the near future.

    PayPal Express
The PayPal Express integration does not suffer from this problem; this might be an interim solution if you are using WPS. However, your layouts and CSS might need adjustment to show this properly.
The steps to implement PayPal Express are in the main help section 'How do Payment Service Providers Work?', under the subheading 'PayPal Express Checkout'

A knowledgebase article with more information on switching to PayPal Express will be posted shortly.

    Support
If you are experiencing this issue, please be patient as we work towards a solution. However, if you wish to raise a support ticket, please do so using the usual support portal at https://support.sellerdeck.com

A knowledgebase article explaining how to switch to PayPal Express can be seen here:

We have also found that versions of Sellerdeck before v12.0.4 require a change in a perl script as PayPal require the country code for the UK to be GB. Please contact support for help doing this.

Sellerdeck versions later than v12.0.4 do not require this change.

If you are using non-stanadard country codes (such as UK1) then it is adviseable to re-design your shipping to use standard codes. You may find further problems in the future if you continue to chose the old, non-standard version.

This is not a solution to the problem that a lot customers are experiencing but something we have spotted during our investigation. We hope to have further updates on the full solution soon.
