    Which Carpet Cleaner?

    Hi

I'm after an upright carpet cleaning thingy. One that washes and syphons up the dirty water. Anyone recently bought one and can recommend anything in particular. Never bought one and know sod all about them? I want something that i can use once a month to help keep carpets clean etc.

I will spend up to £300 ish.

    Any assistance appreciated.

I have a George, I like him. You can buy them from this actinic store

    http://www.completeclean.co.uk/acata...are_Range.html

I don't know anything about that store, it's just one that came up on a google search.

We got a commercial one second hand (vax) ... dirt cheap and lasted about 5 years before finally giving up the ghost ... maybe worth checking the local hire shops to see if they have any they are writing off the hire books

Jan : Are those goldfish the best you can do?

              How about a proper picture like Dunc's & Jont's?

One with you and George would be nice. Buy something from Duncan first!

(see, I do explore this forum - you're all very helpful, many thanks)

As are the other non-regal cleaners out there ... give the Jason's and Trevor's a chance I say.

Well i finally decided on the one i want having read a number of reviews. I went to my local retail park earlier as there is a currys, comet and argos all within 100 yards of each other. Currys have them at £159.99, popped next door just to check what Comet are selling them at and they are closing for a refurb until April - it looked like it had been ram raided, the shelves were sparce.

Back into currys, "can i have one of these please", off to check stock, "sorry sir, out of stock", Birmingham store has one. "ah wonderful", things like this never go smoothly for me.

Toddle off to Argos, woohoo in stock, however £50 more than everyone else . "Do you price match?", "NO", fair enough, i'm not paying £50 more for something just to get it, the drive to Birmingham would only be an hour round trip......leaves dejected.

Arrive home, pissed off, annoyed that i can never seem to get these things to run as you would want them (ever taken 30 minutes to choose some trainers, only to find they do not have your size?) Finally, i decide to have a scour on Amazon and amazingly they sell it for £140 and you get free cleaner solution too. So it will be here by 1pm tomorrow - woohoo - the internet rocks!

I think i have read 4 books in my whole life, one of which will have been the Actinic book you get with your software and have never even looked at Amazon, in my mind it was a bookstore, so i never visited. It would appear they sell a number of different things, so if you are looking for something, make sure you check their website out, it would appear to be a little hidden gem - especially if you are like me and hate reading.

Not really sure why i wrote all of that, maybe i should get a blog.

                      Tara.

To be honest, it was the 40 minute dinner break in the cricket and it was about 5am, i was curious as to what the hell was in there as so many questions seem to get asked that should have an answer in there IMO.

Sadly i only learnt one thing from the whole manual as i had already learnt most of it, however i was impressed with some of the stuff in there.
