Franking Machines

We are thinking of going over to a franking machine, can anyone give any advice on any good deals available, costs incurred, hidden costs. etc etc.

The parcels we send out are usually between 500gms - 1kg.

At the moment we use Smartstamp and as we have rcently become VAT registered perhaps its time to look at the Franking Machine option again now we are able to claim the VAT back on hire etc.

I suppose the onl way to work this out is by downloading the postage history from the Smartstamp and getting to work with the calculator - well its something to do as the orders are down because of the HSBC website problems!!!! LOL

Joy, I don't know what your postage levels are but you could look at an online postage account. We went down this route mid way through last year and have never looked back. OBA system can be a pain sometimes but RM seem to have systems in place for when it goes down. There are no fee's as far as I know but there are discounts the same as franking machines. check it out on RM website.
