Having had intermitant faults with vista that always seem to clear themselves with a restart of FF or IE, or checking emails a few minutes later i finally decided to do some research and found a fix that seems to work a treat, might not suit all but its worth a try.
Right Windows Vista has a feature called "Receive Window Auto-Tuning," but which this feature can cause noticeable drag and even crashing when browsing certain web sites or using some routers or other network hardware.
Do you notice problems when browsing that only occur in Vista or cant get emails and get an error code similar to 0x800ccc19, or network problems, this might even help some of you guys with your multi user issues.
What you about to try can be undone with the appropriate command - DONT PANIC
go to your vista start menu and in the search box type cmd then press ctrl + shift + enter then press alt+c to confirm the administrator command
in the command prompt window you need to type the following
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
if you have undesired effects then turn it back on by issuing the following command
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=normal
well hope this helps some of you
