Having (with much appreciated help from this forum) solved most of my problems in importing a flat file, I'm thinking about linking to the spreadsheet. I am wondering about compatibility with Open Office. I have Excel, but all my work so far has been done in Open Office. I wonder whether SD will link to an Open Office spreadsheet. Open Office is able to save as .xls, which Excel will open in "Compatibility mode". Or I could copy the data in Open Office and paste it into Excel, but for all I know that might amount to the same thing.
Does anyone have any experience? I could of course just experiment but since it will involve copy-typing 2,500 product references in order to get them formatted as text, I don't want to go too far down the road if it doesn't lead anywhere.
