I am investigating the possibility of creating a Punchout Catalogue based on the information contained within a Actinic based site. The punch out catalogue would use the cXML standard and a very minimum would have to support the both PunchOutSetupRequest and PunchOutSetupResponse functions. As I am not familiar with the inner workings of Actinic I have noted some questions below that would help evaluate the feasibility / options available for creating the Punchout Catalogue.
Does Actinic support cXML or XML communications?
Do you know of any successful implementaions utilising cXML with Actinic?
Does Actinic have an underlying product database?
If Yes,
What db engine is used?
Can the DB be accessed by external web apps?
Can the shopping cart functionality be modified?
Is it possible to use php to interact with the Actinic site?
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
