    Google site verification

i need to get my sire reviewed by google and i need to verify it to do this.

i need to create an html file in actinic or insert a metatag within the site to do this -

can anyone suggest how to either?

Does your web host have a control panel (Plesk, cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc?) - which will allow you to create a file through File Manager.

Or, create the file through FTP. There's thousands of articles on how to upload to the web with FTP so you shouldn't have any problems with this.

i dont have a problem uploading to the server with my ftp, i'm just not sure how to create the .html file or put the meta tag in within actinic in the first place. i use front page and actinic to create my sites so i don't have to talk html or java!!

        Hi,

You can copy the meta tag that Google provide you in webmasters tools.

Put this between <head> and </head>, preferably near the bottom, in your design view in Actinic. upload your site and then ask Google to verify.
        Regards,

        Keith

You can do it in any text editor such as notepad that comes with windows.

just create a text file, enter the text that's need, save as 'whatever'.html and then ftp up to the website.

Though the <head> method isn't really preferable with Actinic as every page inherits it, unless you add some <blocks>. Open notepad, type blah blah blah, then Save As > Type: Text Document. Save the file as the pagename Google provide, eg. google3243535.html

Then upload that single file to your server
