    crosss browser issues

    Just a few niggles

    1 on viewing www.surf-wax.co.uk/acatalog/index.html is IE I get a JS message in the status bar, "Done with errors" this happens on every page and always refers to a URL.

    The site views perfectly, in IE and other browsers. Is there anything I can do to prevent this message.

    2 Secondly Normans cascading menu seems to loose the syle sheet in Firefox (1.0) and Netscape but is fine in IE and Opera

    3 I've applied a new design to this site, any comments?

    4 Also I'm using some of Smart Decisions Cross/Upselling, I'm not sure if this is having a detrimental effect on load time - checkout www.surf-wax.co.uk and http://www.surf-wax.co.uk/acatalog/10_Sprint_Ring.html

    In response to query 1: "JS message in the status bar";

    you appear to have a java snippet that does nothing at line 47:

    <script language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    startnormal();
    // -->
    </script>

    Try deleting or commenting out to verify and if this solves the issue then determine what the snippet should be doing before replacing it with the correct code.

    btw. Nice looking site.

      From what I can see the 'people who bouhgt this also bought' bit is introducing a slight increase in the page loading time. It doesn't seem too bad though and I'd have thought it would have been pretty quick as it's running in your own cgi-bin.

      PS. The section trail (the "home > sectiona > subsectionb > etc" bit) seems to be right-alligned. I'd have thought left alligning it would have been better.

        Call me old fashioned, but why do you not use Capitals for the first letter of the town names. It looks sloppy rather then trendy expecially when FAQ is in Capitals

          Alex's suggestion was correct for the JS error, and then was other redundant JS code there too, so that one is fixed now.

          The right aligned breadcrumb was annoying me, I've now corrected this to centred

          Interesting comment about the lower case, I've replaced the menu in the shop, I notice I did this with caps, so I bow to this and will change the place names and all other menus with caps.

          Still interested in load times....
