    Wishlist - Change Offline Price

This has been requested before http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=7842 but I don't think the case was made very clearly and it probably wasn't added to the wishlist.

When an offline order is placed at present the price cannot be directly changed. This doesn't really make any sense as many businesses could well have different product prices for online orders, catalog orders, shop orders or indeed auction orders (such as ebay) where the price for an item might be different every time.

So unless there's a good reason not to do this, can we please have the ability to edit the product price directly for offline orders.

    Thanks

    Mike

PS. I understand that for most of the above cases a separate section of products makes sense, but the killer need is for use with auctions where the price won't be fixed.

Agree with Mike - this would be an important improvement to offline ordering.

We are looking at this as a possible future development. I will make all the cases here to the development team to help re-inforce it.

          Thanks Chris

The issue here is really one of making Actinic better suited to the wide range of distribution channels that Actinic users access to sell. I suspect there are relatively few "pure play" internet retailers using Actinic, and outlets like ebay and Amazon ZShops need to be accounted for too

Wholeheartedly agree with the points raised by Jim and Mike that this is much needed. Can't see why it hasn't already been incorporated.

Can I add my request for this as well - we often receive offline orders from customers who are using an old printed catalog with different prices and also may not be aware of current web site discount promotions. We actually use the online web site to enter all orders ourselves and need to be able to change product prices after the order has been entered.

We can change to totals using adjustments but this does not really do the job as then the customer can see that we have, e.g. increased their prices to disallow a promotional discount. If they have paid by cheque, we end up having to accept the order at the lower web prices and write a refund cheque.

We could probably do some editing using the Access tables, but it gets messy adjusting the totals and I am worried about doing damage!

Many thanks for the input here. The ability to change the offline price of an order is a feature which has obvious benefits, and will definitely be in a future release of the software.

It really does warm the heart to see interaction like this between developers and usercs/customers.

Yes it did, you have to enable it first though, tick the box called 'Allow unit price override' on the order processing tab in view / business settings.

Thanks jan - I missed that one. It would be better if it amended the original orderline rather than adding it as a separte line. But at least you can change it which is better than V7

If you are entering an offline order you can change the price as you enter it, you only have to enter a new item it you want to change the price of an already entered order, I think this is correct because it keeps a record of the changes that have been made to the order during it's little life.
