Hi all - Happy New Year

We recently joined the Actinic fraternity and have our first site hosted with Easyspace. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that choosing Easyspace was a mistake. We have had a stream of problems with them ranging from email and DNS issues through to various parts of our hosting "package" becoming unmanageable due to an upgrade in their control panel which now denies us management access to some parts of our system. Their helpdesk is unusable and it appears to take over a week for a helpdesk request to get answered.

Or generally do a Google on "Easyspace problems" before signing up with them.

I therefore need a new hosting partner and would welcome suggestions.

As an aside, when I started with Actinic I found it quite difficult to select a hosting partner. Would it therefore be useful if someone (me?) volunteered to maintain a list of reputable hosting companies recommended by experienced Actinic users to which new and prospective Actinic users could refer?

Hi Mik,

I currently have two sites hosted with '4sure hosting' and apart from a recent attack on their systems, during which time everyone was kept fully informed of developments during the attack, I have found them excellent. Their helpdesk is great and as they host a lot of Actinic sites you shouldn't have many problems.

I too am a very happy bunny with 4Sure Hosting - you can talk with a "real live person" and I found this to be so important when I knew nothing about websites! The information sent out during their recent problems was informative and immediate.

I have used www.34sp.com for the past six years and find them very helpful. I have 6 websites on their webspace.

I quite recently purchased Actinic to use with my websites and was given sterling help with the SMTP side of things etc.

Marvellous company to deal with and all at a good price!
