I recently upgraded 7.0.2 > 7.0.3 and then refreshed the web site with both shop sites. One thing that has always puzzled me is why the upload stops every few files to set permissions. Why not upload all, for example, *.html files and then set permissions, then the same for the others. Maybe that would speed up the very slow process that Actinic uses. Not re uploading images has already been suggested in an earlier post.

    Hi Bob,

I think the idea behind this was that it better to change permission after every few files, so that if the upload crashed out, we would not need to reset those permission, just do alot more.

As per re uploading images, this has been asked on the wishlist many times, or use selective upload.

Your point is valid, but I often upload new or amended web pages and docs/pdf's to our server, or new/updated utils and apps, and never had a drop out with the upload. Your method is also very slow. I expect I could upload 10/20 times the number of files an set permissions using a decent SFTP compared with the method Actinic uses.

        Hi there Bob,

Just out of interest, if you go to "Advance | Network Setup", are you using "Enhanced FTP"?. This was a new method of ftp introduced to 7.0.2. Whereas before Actinic uses to upload large chucks then set permission, enhanced ftp now does standard uploads. You can even change the ftp option like connection timeout.
