I think it's unlikely to have much impact. Dreamweaver and flash have a huge market share and there doesn't seem to be a huge overlap in the product ranges so I doubt if any major software will get canned. (Although thinking about it, don't adobe have a dreamweaver type product? that might well get canned if they have the decisiveness to kill it off)

This looks to me like a mature market consolidating as the big players continue to try and grow their revenues. I'm sure they'll talk about savings from reducing overlap and overheads but I doubt if those will be significant.

The killing off I was concerned about. Will it be Go Live (Adobe) or Dreamweaver (Macromedia) I dont suppose they will continue with both.

Hi, i dont expect adobe to kill of dreamweaver, it sells more that go live and is the industry standard. Adobe killed off its own anwser to Flash a year or so back. Adobe Live Motion it was called. It worked well with photoshop etc but just too many peolpe used Flash as a standard.

On a similer thing, Microsoft aquired Virtual PC for Macs. Everyobe thought Microsoft would kill it off. Forcing Mac users who use the emulater to go out and buy a whole new pc with windows. Instead they brought out a better version with lots of features and is still going strong.

It may see a closer integration between Photoshop / Dreamweaver / Flash applications... wonder if Fireworks will suffer as a consequence though?

They may re-position Go-Live as a more entry level product to compete with FrontPage.
