Site relaunch

Colours don't quite work for me (I wonder if a white background would be better) but I am no expert in webdesign, navigation seemed Ok although I think the Shop link in the left hand menu should be further up.
I am about to place an order for the autofeeder CS50 (Is this in stock?)

Autofeeders are fine stockwise...You didn't have to order as well y'know!! Though we appreciate the business..naturally!!

for SEO I would replace phrases like "large species" which something more relevant to a search word a customer would use.

I was also confused by what I assume to be product references (ESSEGI) (FOP) - abit irrelevant for the customer

The layout is good, easy navigation.
I'd tart up the front page - get rid of the animated gif - its annoying
The special offer is confusing, your displayed prices seem to include VAT, but your special offer excludes VAT, so what is the online value of the order to qualify for the discount

Also the checkout still contains the user definable entry on the form you might want to rename this to something like "comments".

Just noticed also the Actinic link does not appear to have a merchant id associated with it?.

Hi Tracie

Nice and easy to use, but I'd suggest a few cosmetic changes.

Agree with Pinbrook - the animated gif is a definite no-no - appart from being annoying I think it cheapens the look and is amateurish.

The main naviagtion buttons have a fuzzy out-of -focus appearance - its probably something to do with the colour mix - I'd experiment with different colours to see if you can get them looking sharper.

The section gifs on your sub sections are annoyingly small (eg on CAT_PRODUCTS.html).
I prefer the gif size you use on index.html.

I personally would prefer a bigger font on the section headings.

Be interested to hear back how mjohn gets on with the autofeeder. We bought one (not from Tracie) a couple of years ago, but had to abandon it. Of our two cats, one (Budda -so aptly named!) has an insatiable appetite. He didn't quite get the concept that the auto feeder was only supposed to open at a set time, and spent his entire time trying to break in for an extra portion!
Many a nights sleep was interupted by the sound of cat and feeder in mortal combat!

Agreed, spelling errors need changing, but that's what happens when you're lazt and cut/paste from the manufacturer..I'm working on it by section!
SEO advice noted. Front page looks as it does because I've not learned enough about the software yet probably!

Was looking into the pricing. I want the prices displayed incl VAT, but the cart displays without...weird! Can I change the cart to show VAT incl?

I found the user definable bit, can you explain how I remove it MJ?

Take heart Tracie - the site looks fine and the navigation works so don't let any of our suggestions get you down. Just go at your own pace.

To change the font size you need to edit the templates.
If you are not comfortable doing this, best wait until you are more familiar with the software (the software is great from the point that you literally can use it out of the box. You have plenty of time to 'mess' with it at a later date, although it is worth the effort when you have time to devote to it, as it will help give the site a more professionally designed look, as well as a more personal, rather than 'out of a box' look).

Not really, but if somone follows the link from your page to Actinics you wont get credit. You have to sign up with Actinic and you can earn credit for each referral. It should be in your help files somewhere, done a quick search on Actinic site but couldnt find it.

The user definable bit is under Design..Text...2nd Tab along called Web Site(Cont) then lower tab called General Info.
Tick it or untick it as required, change text in the right hand window(check thats the righ one, there are a few user definable fields in the other tabs such as invoice, Delivery address and so on. not sure where yours was coming from).
