Actinic Business Licence

Hello,
Can any one please explain to me how the licensing works for Actinic Business, as I've been offered the opportunity to purchase a website, its domain name and existing stock. The site is written in Actinic Business and the current site owner who the software is registered to is willing to sign ownership to me. Can he pass his copy of Actinic business over when site is officially purchased by myself? It would only be used for site it originally created and previous owner would not have access to site or software anymore.
Is the software licensing to a site or person?

I think that you can do this but would advise confirming this with Actinic Sales.

Sounds like you are buying a complete business, in which case it's nothing to do with Actinic.
The Actinic license is part of the assets of the business and the owner of the assets has the right to sell them to whoever he wishes, Actinic has been paid for the use of the program by the business you are buying and it's involvement should stop there (unless you wish to pay them for upgrades or cover)

Just a warning here. All you have above are (informed) opinions. Don't spend your money till you have a definitive answer from Actinic Sales - you can contact them directly on marketing@actinic.co.uk or sales@actinic.co.uk . Tell them the name of the website, but no need to give them the commercial info (like how much you intend to pay).

A client of mine has just gone through this, ie selling both website and business. All licences etc were transferred to the new owners via Actinic Sales.

Thanks for the information, I tried to contact the sales office on Saturday but understandably they work 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, was just doing my research and checking on the new business to avoid any nasty surprises.
I'll ring sales again in the morning.

For anyone interested,
I checked with Actinic sales today and there is no problem with transferring ownership of licence as long as it is only run for one site.
