Developer and Business

Hi!
I just want to check a couple of things since I have taken over from the last web guy who told me nothing about the arrangements and software required on the clients side.

If we develop a site for a client using Developer they will be able to download new orders and things with a copy of Business, correct?

What would be best, Catalog or Business for them?

Yep - you can create using Developer - send them the snapshot and they can import into Business / Catalog and carry on as if the site is theirs.

IMHO go for Business - the extra cost is more than made up for with the extra features (product price banding etc) and is often a common theme on here with people who have Catalog trying to do things that are available in Business

Rather than quote them for Business and find out at a later date they only required catalog, I would have thought it prudent to find out what features your client requires.

It seems a little cowboyish not to quote the correct solution. After all there is a £400 price difference

Sorry, I should have said. They are looking to be able to have stock control, discounts, returning customer accounts and discounts for repeat custom.

They will be selling clothes mainly and they are wanting to be able to display different clothes for different customers, i.e. all XL products for one customer, all L products for another customer.

Is Business still the correct way to go....

Yes business is correct as it has the customer accounts feature
