    Professional Site Polishing Required

Hi, I'm currently using Actinic v7.0 to develop an e-commerce site for a small start-up business. It will have c50 pages of relatively straightforward content. Being a pessimist I'm anticipating problems giving the site that professional shine, e.g. slick navigation icons, and I am nervous about the on-line payment side of things.

Is there anyone/ a company out that provides a finishing servicve? I should say that we expect to pay for this although before we get to stage of handing over the site to be finished I can't promise I won't need a few informal pointers along the way. We'd be happy for it to evolve into a longer term relationship if it works well.

    Thanks.

There are quite a few developers on the forum which can provide the type of service you are after, and also assistance within the forum itself if you need it, but have you checked out the Advanced User Guide (AUG) from within the Actinic websites download section, as this might provide you with some ideas on how to achieve things that are not that obvious, and a lot of things which just might not spring to mind.

Get yourself a copy of Dreamweaver, install the Actinc extension and you can do most things by following the user guides. If you get stuck then the forum is the place to find the answer.

When putting an Actinic site together, design is important. I think this is what JackBlue is asking for here.

Once the design concept is in place then you can use DW etc to achieve it

I would suggest you go ahead and play with the site yourself and then put it on the web

Then ask this forum for their opinions which will be most helpfull to you

You can then get a feel for what you want and also give a designer a baseline so they can give an accurate quote

All the deign templates supplied will give you a proffesional finish and are easy to play with

Online payment is mostly straight forward and any help you require is here on the forum

          Hope this helps

There is a bit of a theme here! Self help seems to be the way forward! I'm no dummy on these matters but I'd prefer to enlist the help of a professional to audit and finish the site. If any company is interested please get in touch. Thanks again everybody for your help.
