Sorry I don't understand your problem, do you have shares in Actinic?

This forum exists because people do get genuine free help from enthusiasts that enjoy helping other people and like to encourage them to make the most of Actinic, this is to the benefit of the users (legal or not) and also Actinic (now and in the future).

Do you object to car reviews that inform you of the drawbacks of a car before you have paid for the car?

No, I made a suggestion and have been defending it ever since.

They still would, except the illegal users would not.

Er, the annology doesnt work. There are no reviews on this site. Its mainly technical support. If I bought a car and paid for technical support, then saw it freely available for people who had stolen the same car as me, then yes I would be equally annoyed.

You purchased yours (I assume), I purchased mine, happy with both Actinic and the forums, why should I worry about what others may or may not have done, I have received what I wanted in the software and gained massive assistance from the forums

Why are you unhappy with what you have?

As the first to disagree with Neil, can I also be the first to defend his right to post an opinion on this Forum for friendly and open discussion.

I can see where you are coming from Neil, and while I can agree there are posts here that would help an illegal user, I would say they are far outnumbered by posts that illustrate that owning a webshop is no fast path to riches and are more likely to put them off the whole venture.

I am extremely happy with my purchase.....so far. I did do a great deal of research. I thought about it long and hard. I made my decison and bought the software, because I feel it is the best. I also bought cover, as I felt I would need the backup of good technical support in my first year.

I have been a member of many forums, on many sites. I have run 3 forums. One using the same software as this one. I know how this software works, behind the scenes. I know it would not be hard to set up a simple usergroup promotion, once authentication has been checked. This would STOP illegal users from reaching certain areas of the site. I suggested that these areas, should contain technical support questions and answers (from paid and also friendly users (I hope to be one of these here)). I suggested that the remaining areas of the site would be open and (in my experience), still very vibrant, active and informative.

I still stand by that suggestion, even though I've spent most of the day, trying to explain that:-

                a)I am not hitler.
b)I am not suggesting that the site should become purely tech support only
                c)I am not hilter
                d)I am not against freeware
e)I am not unhappy with what I have been given so far, from Actinic.

However, I am meerly making a suggestion. So carry on flaming me, if you want?

Or, try and thing about things from a perspective, where the end product may, just maybe, be a more satisfying place to spend time, knowing that someone who hasn't paid for software (when you have), is frustrated as hell, because he/she can't get access to any technical support and decides to go and steal something else....or even buys Actinic.

I wanted to say it ages ago, but I kept having to defending/explaing myself.

i think it has now reached a hiatus, thankfully.

With your last word being "word", I thought I could find a more appropriate last word One which no other thread, anywhere, has ever finished with....

I used to do things in Shrubbery which led to other people wearing smocks. But that would be another thread.

Is it right or moral to look at a Shrubbery that hasn't been purchased by yourself?

I have recently purchased a few for my front garden but am now concerned that my neighbours are now benefiting from them with out contributing to the cost, or labour of planting them.

Maybe I should build a brick wall to hide them behind!
