List of Folder Contents

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a way in windows xp to get the contents of a folder listed in a plain text file?

Use DOS redirection

example

start a MS-DOS prompt (or put in a batch file)

dir > fred.txt

file fred.txt will then contain the list of the directory contents (and can be viewed using notepad or dos command "type fred.txt")

Is this the sort of thing you meant with your question ?
