    Internet Explorer Query

    I've searched elsewhere on the web and cannot find the answer, so i'm hoping one of you guys can enlighten me?

    When viewing a website in Internet Explorer, the very top of the screen has the following;

    When viewing google.co.uk
    Explorer Icon then Google - Microsoft Internet Explorer

    When view actinic.co.uk (and the majority of other websites)
    EXplorer Icon then A (this letter changes dependant of website being viewed)

    This a real pain when trying to study Page Titles, etc.

    Any ideas what is happening?

    This sometimes caused by the Google Toolbar installed into IE. Try unistalling it - download the latest version and re-install and hopefully it wil be OK.

      Many thanks Duncan.

      Although I didn't have any other Toolbars, etc installed, I did the following and normal service was resumed;

      Internet Options > Advanced
      Then 'Unticked' - Enable Third Party Browser Extensions

        Alexa is notorious for installing tracking software that is not visible in IE .... they are lovingly known as "Browser Helper Objects" ... hmmm.
