Quiet weekend for sales - anyone else?

We've had an incredibly quiet weekend for sales - seriously down on normal.

Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else - is it because it was the start of easter hols or the fact that the sun was out (well it was here!)

What's made me nervous is that on Thursday last week we changed from Worldpay to Protx - really not sure this has made any difference as not been receiving lots of psp pending orders or failed protx transactions.

have you looked at your stats to compare visitor numbers, for the past 4 weekends for example.

Then compare visitor number to sales to see if the percentages as similar

We always find April is the worst month - presumably due to holidays etc. I read somewhere recently that 2 million people in GB go on holiday in the relatively short Easter/April period (ie unlike the relatively long Summer hols period). We sell fairly upmarket items, and presumably if you are one of the 2 million you are fairly upmarket! (the rest of us have to stay and work.......). Mark H.

PS number of visitors from Kelkoo is down 50% from last month!

Likewise, our vistitors have dropped by about 20-25% since about Thursday/Friday.

Strange thing is our visitor numbers aren't really down by that much - but sales are - even ebay sales have been very quiet this weekend.

Oh well - just hope it's a small blip.

Would it help for me to do a couple of test purchases from your site - ie go through as far as PROTX but not pay - I would use name Mark H so you would know you hadn't lost a customer!

Don't worry too much, it will pick up again next week. We have realworld shops and this is the worst two weeks in the year after jan/feb normally. Easter is never actually as good as people think <s>.

Easter is traditionally quiet for a large section of commerce as it is the first long bank holiday, weather is generally a bit better and people are off having fun without their wallets and with kids in tow

We've been rushed off our feet all week, spring is great for us, lots of self tanning products and hair removal stuff flying out of the door! Has been erratic though, Tues was more than twice as busy as Weds and today looks like being almost as good as tues.
