Developer Vs Developer light

I wonder if anyone can help with the following questions.

1. Is their much of a difference between the full developer programme and the developer light programme?
2. If you develop in both which one do you prefer?
3. Is their any examples of websites designed used developer light.

Sounds to me like developer lite is just developer without the order processing capabilities.
