    Email Mystery

Some customer's email me using the following email address
    enquiries @partyconnection.co.uk

The problem i've got is that I don't have this email address mentioned anywhere on the site, or in any literature & paperwork.

This email address was used up until about 2 years ago but got so badly spammed that I put it to grass and now all email to this address ends up in my catchall box.

I've checked my stationery, contact us form , and everywhere else I can think of.

Any ideas where on my website customer's are getting that email address from?

    TIA

they are possibly just making it up as they go along,

alot of businesses will use email addresses such as

enquiries, sales, info, mail, and so on...

or they are finding some very old literature and chancing it

      Didn't really make myself clear

It is legitimate emails from customer's with either a product query or a query about a recent order that are using enquiries @partyconnection.co.uk

It must be somewhere on my website for them to use it?

It may still be people chancing their luck - as Jo says most companies have a default set of emails such as sales@ or enquiries@ and some just assume that is the best place to send something if they need it actioning and not getting lost amidst everything else

          Fair enough.

It was a good exercise for me though, as I found one or two other email addresses i'd made available to spammers within the site and promptly changed them to via the 'contact us' form.

          Thanks

I now know where customers are getting this email address from.

Once they have placed an order, they get an email with the subject line:
Your order from Party Connection has been processed successfully

This email is automatically generated but I cannot find where I can alter the email address it is sent from.

Any boby have any ideas now?

Using the template manager you will see Misc | Email ... the one you need sounds like "buyer" .. which will open Act_BuyerEmail.txt ... worth checking them all if they have been modified at any stage with a hardcoded address

                No good Jont.

No hardcoded email address to be found.

I'm now wondering whether this could actually be a default email sent from WorldPay.

                Thanks for your time.

Don't use WorldPay (or PayPal etc) so unsure .. have you logged into WorldPay to check for your settings there?

                    Problem solved

                    It was within the Protx payment confirmation email;

If you have any questions regarding your order, delivery details or items purchased, please contact Party Connection directly at enquiries@ partyconnection.co.uk.

Jont: Sorry to have wasted your time.

No problem - just as long as you get it sorted that's all that counts
