    hot linking

    hello,
i have just been looking at other sellers items similar to mine and found that some checky g?t is hot linking images from my site and using them in an ebay listing. Is there any way i can stop this from happening? the only problem is that i link to them in my own listings on ebay so i still need to get access to them.
I have contacted ebay and also the seller, but i need a way of stoping this in the future as well.
    TIA
    mark.

The best thing you can do is add some semi-transparent text on the images - such as your web address. You can automate the addition of this with many image utilities.

i have just changed the image on our server to our logo his listing seems a bit silly with our logo in it, see item 6063571525 on ebay.

i think i will go down the route of watermarking the images.
      thanks

          Hi Duncan/Bun,

What software are you using to add these semi-transparent watermarks?

I use Faststone Photo Resizer 2.2 from http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm - I find it to be a very useful for batching. It can do resizing, watermarking, text overmarking, renaming and optomising etc.

                Hi Duncan

What a fantastic little program - will save me hours of work just resizing images etc.

                Thanks

You could use this in an htaccess file
                    RewriteEngine on
                    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
                    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?mydomain.com/.*$ [NC]
                    RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|js|css)$ - [F]
