We have been trialing some new software from www.transparent.uk.com that works alongside their clan 2000 software.
As a stand alone system it will look up any days clan dispatch lists and send a email to the owner telling them both the city-link packet number and the expected delivery date (which also takes account of public holidays and weekends)
Life is now a lot easier in that with their two programs we can just enter the last 5 digits of their order number and print out their labels and then on completion run this software and send a email to everyone in todays drop telling them the parcel number where they can check its movement and also the expected day of delivery
