    Why does Firefox...

...not show what's in the "alt" tags of images when you hover over an image like most other browsers do? It means if you want some annotation you have to add a "title" tag as well (which I always thought was meant to annotate text links. That's what I've used it for in the past anyway).

Anyone else find that a bit irritating? Just a thought

    Scott.

Because FireFox is doing the job correctly - IE is in the wrong by showing the alt text on the hover ... the alt text is there whilst the image is downloading or if the user has images disabled .. the hover is a side effect of IE that is now taken for granted
